How to get started with Groups

Open the Virgin Mobile app. On the homepage, scroll down to a 'Groups' card. Follow the steps to name your group, then invite your friends and family.

Introducing Groups, the new subscription service from Virgin Mobile. Create or join a Group to enjoy exclusive benefits with your friends. Simply add your numbers or invite your friends and take advantage of the perks together.

Terms and conditions

  • Virgin Mobile users with a valid Emirates ID and a minimum AED 79 plan can create or join a group.
  • The first 30 days of the subscription are free, and you can cancel anytime. If you don't cancel, your saved payment method will be used to renew the subscription. The subscription fee is AED 90/month (AED 94.5 incl. VAT).
  • The user who creates the group will pay the subscription fee. Invited users will enjoy the benefits for free.
  • Free calling:
    • Only the Group owner can make free calls to the selected 3 members (one-way free calling).
    • You can add free calling for up to 3 members. The Group owner can add and remove members from the free calling list, once a month upon ‘Group plan renewals’.
    • Free calls within members can only be made within the UAE.

  • Members of the group can share data and credit with each other without any limits. They can also purchase the 100GB group data booster for AED 500.
  • Invited users from other operators must transfer their numbers to Virgin Mobile through the invitation link to enjoy the benefits.
  • A group can have a maximum of 10 users. The Group owner can add and remove only in subsequent months upon ‘Group plan renewals’.
  • The group owner can terminate the group at any time, and the members will be removed immediately. If the group owner terminates their account or changes ownership, the group will be suspended.
  • If there is a failed payment, if you change your plan to a lower plan than AED 79, if your ID expires or changes, or if there is a change in your ID type, the group subscription will be suspended.

What is Virgin Mobile Groups?

  • Virgin Mobile Groups is a cool new subscription service that lets you create a Group with your friends or family, up to 10 members in total including you.​​

  • The Group owner can call 3 members in the Group for free (one-way calling). Also, all members of the group get a free BOTIM subscription, a free Apple Watch eSIM subscription, and a 100GB Data Booster for just AED 500. Plus, unlimited data and credit sharing within the Group.​​

  • The best part? You can try it out for free for the first 30 days, and then it's only AED 90 + VAT (AED 94.5 incl. VAT) per month. You can cancel anytime, so there's no long-term commitment.​​

  • The subscription fee is paid by the user who creates the Group, but it's free for other members to join.​​

  • You can create one Group and even join up to two other Groups.​​

  • Keep in mind, this service is only available to Emirates ID holders with a minimum plan value of AED 79.​

Can I create my own group?

  • Creating a group is super easy. Simply look for the "Groups" card on the Virgin Mobile app home screen, or tap here, activate your group, and start adding your friends' numbers.​​

  • You can try it out for free for the first 30 days, and then it's AED 90 + VAT (AED 94.5 incl. VAT) per month. You can cancel anytime, so there's no long-term commitment.​​

  • Please note that this service is exclusively available to Emirates ID holders with a minimum plan value of AED 79.​

Can I join someone else's Group?

  • Absolutely! You can be a part of up to two groups, in addition to your own group. To join someone else's group, simply ask your friend to send you an invitation through the app. You will receive an SMS with the invitation link. Follow the steps in the link to join the group.​​

  • Please note that if you are already part of two groups and want to join another one, you will need to leave one of the groups you are currently a member of.​

Who can I invite to the group?

You can add any number that you own or invite any other number to your group, such as your friends or family members, from Virgin Mobile or other operators. This means that whether the number is a Virgin Mobile number or from another operator, you can invite them to your group.​

How does free calling work?

After adding the first member to your Group, you can start adding them to free calling. The Group owner can call 3 members that they select in the Group for free (one-way calling).
